We have published a commentary on Wood et al’s Emotion Review article, ‘Meta-analysis of menstrual cycle effects on women’s mate preferences’.
In the commentary, we critically evaluate how menstrual cycle shifts have been interpreted, and we argue for greater consideration of domain-general mechanisms and socially transmitted information in studies of mating preferences.
